Circular goal: Turn garments into living circular stories
Moving Wild is a PRO/50 collaboration with PlaineOutdoors that turns a limited garment release into the beginning of a shared circular story.
The project is built around 50 garments, each treated as the start of a journey rather than the end point of a product drop. All 50 begin together at Moving Wild 002, where the collection becomes part of a live outdoor event, before each garment moves into its own next chapter.
The launch strategy positions the pop-up as the origin point, the hike as the first movement, and the summit image as the proof: one moment where all 50 garments are together before they separate and move into the world.
Why
The project asks how a limited garment can build culture, community and meaning beyond a simple sale. Rather than treating scarcity as the whole story, Moving Wild uses numbering, invitation, ownership and participation to make each garment part of something ongoing.
It also gives Materials in Motion a literal form: textiles moving through people, places, landscapes and future stories.
Outcome
The intended outcome is a numbered collection of 50 garments, a launch pop-up, a first shared journey at Moving Wild 002, and a voluntary digital story layer where each garment can continue to document where it moves next.
